This 2-day event offers you face-to-face contact with quality speakers on a
wide range of topics. Expanding your knowledge will enable you to be a better
problem solver and will help you to understand and choose best practices for
the proper plant management of turfgrass, ornamentals, and trees.
• The IEPMA believes it is important
to keep as up to date as possible when maintaining commercial, municipal, or
private landscapes. Attending our annual
conference is one of the best and most enjoyable ways to do so. This conference should not be missed!
Keynote Speakers
Dr. François Tardif studied at Laval University, Québec City, Canada,
where he obtained his B. Sc. in Agriculture, his M. Sc and his Ph. D. In 1991,
he moved to Australia working as a Research Associate at the University of
Adelaide. There he conducted research on the biochemistry, physiology and
genetics of herbicide resistance in annual ryegrass. He was appointed at the
University of Guelph, Canada, in 1996. He has supervised more than 15 graduate
students and published more than 70 peer reviewed papers. He conducts research
on weed management with a particular interest on herbicide resistance and
invasive weeds management.

Chris (Christine) Fulkerth, Plant Science Instructor in the School of Agribusiness, Land and Fashion at Olds College. Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from University of Alberta, a Diploma in Integrated Pest Management from Olds College and a Master’s Degree in Plant Science from the University of Alberta, my interests are really plants and pests! I have been teaching full-time at Olds College since 2001.I am originally from a mixed farm near Peers, Alberta, where my family still runs the operation. Prior to teaching I worked in a number of areas of research including the Alberta Research Council, Forestry Canada, Canola Council of Canada, West Central Forage Association and the Prairie Turfgrass Research Centre.
